WONCA World Conference 2025

Family Doctors working in teams with other health professionals and involving communities create a unique ecosystem to provide the right care in a sustainable and appropriate way. This goal combined with Hippocratic principles will keep us as the most advanced defence line of Medicine, facing challenge times.

In September 2025, the middle of the decade, we must reinforce the role of Family Medicine and its decisive contribution to a strong Primary Health Care. More than ever we should stand together on the compromise to sustainable development of our world.

All Family Doctors acting as leaders, educators, researchers and clinicians have the privilege of understanding peoples’ problems and needs, incorporating in their work detailed knowledge about their families, communities and social determinants of health. Blending humanism with technology, we create value in healthcare systems. Population wellbeing is the most important metric in our everyday work!

Together with Committees, WONCA Working Parties and Special Interest Groups, we are preparing a program to celebrate our discipline. We hope that Lisbon, an ancient multicultural city, joining traditions and modernism, will encourage colleagues from around the world to meet each other personally in our exceptional event.
