Description

With men accounting for three-quarters of suicides in the UK and workplace stress, burnout, and cultural stigmas impacting men disproportionately, there is a clear need for organisations to prioritise reducing the stigma around male mental health in the workplace.

In September 2023, the government unveiled a comprehensive five-year plan with the goals of lowering the suicide rate, improving support for self-harm survivors, and better aiding those who have lost a loved one to suicide. This ambitious strategy comprises over 100 actionable items, led by various government departments, the NHS, the voluntary sector, and our national partners, focusing on substantial progress within the next two years.

In November 2024, the UK government announced plans for its first-ever men’s health strategy, focusing on key issues such as mental health, suicide prevention, heart disease, and cancer as part of its 10-year Health Plan.

The Institute of Government & Public Policy has earned a reputation for delivering insightful and thought-provoking health and social care conferences. Building on the government’s plan, The Institute’s Third National Advancing Men’s Mental Health Conference 2025 will delve into key priorities for action, including enhancing data, offering targeted support to priority groups, and fostering collective responsibility for suicide prevention.

Join us for the Third National Advancing Men’s Mental Health Conference 2025 in London, for an exciting, educational, and practice-enhancing event that will explore the factors damaging male mental health, how best to support men in the workplace, create resilience, and actively address men’s mental wellbeing.
