Australia’s border is a vital strategic asset, crucial for economic success and global connectivity. It plays a pivotal role in facilitating trade, tourism, and immigration while ensuring national security.

With a land and sea jurisdiction covering 5% of the earth’s surface, rising travel demands post-COVID, evolving trade dynamics, emerging threats, and the 2032 Brisbane Olympics on the horizon, there is a need to modernise and streamline border operations.

The government’s allocation of $2 billion for border enforcement and management in 2024 and 2025 underscores the significance of holding this summit in February 2025.

The Border Technology ANZ Summit will bring together border agencies from Australia and around the world to explore key themes such as Border Enforcement, Transnational Threats, Trade, Travel, and emerging technologies, all centred on leveraging cutting-edge technology.
